Impact of Highly Cited Articles in T Cells Research

METHODS

The data were based on the online version of the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCI-EXPANDED), the Thomson Reuters Web of Science (updated on 18 June 2014). “T cell” and “T cells”, were searched in terms of topic (including four parts: title, abstract, author keywords, and KeyWords Plus) based on Web of Science SCI-EXPANDED. Another filter, the front page, meant only the articles with the searching keywords in their front page including article title, abstract, and author keywords were preserved. The citation frequencies for each of the articles per year were collected for articles published to 2013. The total citation of an article in recent year (2013) was recorded as C2013 and the total number of citations of an article from its publication to 2013 was recorded as TC2013. Other indicators including citations per publication (CPP) as the citations (TC2013) divided by publications and citations per year (TCPY) as the citations (TC2013) divided by years were applied. Only articles with TC2013 ³ 500 were considered in this study.
